Well the main thing i will point out is that it wont be a very good render for a sig because it is cut off on his face. So the focal well the half of it will be way on the side.

Not true, you could always duplicate and flip it to make a full face xD

Not bad for a first render, you've just got to work on the hair a bit, and put them on a bg colour that isn't in the render. Bright yellow would work, as does bright green. I get really fed up of removing white from the side of a reder where the light is glinting or dark renders on black...:/
