Part 3 - Torture

Marcus woke up. He recognized his surroundings - he was at Nighty's place. She must've brought him here when he passed out.
‘You're awake.' Nighty said as she glanced from the computer to the bed Marcus was lying on.
'Woah.. what the hell happened back there?'
'That's what I'm trying to find out,' Said Nighty. 'I've called people and looked things up on the Internet about it but the whole world seems oblivious to it.'
'Weird.. what about Chris? Did you find him?'
'No, the guys on the bikes took him away. I've reported him missing to the police.'
'Shit..' Marcus started. 'This is all pretty effed up.'
'I know. I tried finding out a little about Nightscream - the word tattooed on the mans hand - but there's nothing.'
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door. Nighty got up.
'I'll get it.'
As she started to walk down the stairs, the door opened itself and a man in blue-clad armour entered the house. Nighty started to panic. Marcus got off the bed to see what was happening.
'Don't worry - I'm not hostile.' The man said, raising his hands into the air. 'I'm here to help.'
Before Nighty or Marcus could react, the man reached into his belt and pulled out a small flashing device. All of a sudden, he threw the device with lightning speed at Nighty and Marcus. And then it all went blue.

Deep inside the Nightscream London Headquarters, Chris was sat in a pitch black soundproofed room thinking about nothing but what his torturer will do to him next if he doesn't tell him the answer to a question he doesn't know. Pain had chained Chris' arms and legs to the ceiling upside down with nothing but his underwear on, before viciously whipping him repeatedly with his own belt.

Pain was sat on a chair opposite, but Chris couldn't see that. 'I'll ask you one more time.' Pain said, making Chris jump. 'Who brought you into the game?'
'I don't know what the game is!' Chris pleaded, to a red hot iron poker in the ribs.
'Don't lie to me!' Pain shouted. 'I'm only getting warmed up, wait 'till I get the.. tools.. out.. yes.. my darling little tools.. can't come to school without the right equipment...'
'I.. I don't know. Everything was fine until I met up with Marcus..'
When he said the word 'Marcus', Pain dropped the poker. He left the room (Chris could hear the footsteps) and came back a few minutes later with an item, supposedly heavy as Pain was walking slowly. Chris saw a spark in the corner of the room, then a click, before the roaring of a machine. Pain had a chainsaw.
'WHO BROUGHT YOU INTO THE GAME?' Pain shouted over the roar of the blade.
'It was Marcus, Marcus brought me into the game!' Chris begged.
Suddenly, there was the sound of metal on flesh and a deafening scream, then silence.

Meanwhile, at The Faction headquarters above London, Nighty and Marcus both woke up inside small human chambers. The doors opened automatically and they both stepped outside to a medium-sized circular room, with everything a dark cyan colour. It all looked very modern and contemporary. A soldier wearing the same clothes as the man who visited Nighty's house stood up from a chair.
'Glad you've woken up,' He said with a smile. 'The name's Oxidus, but you can call me Oxy. The general would like to see you. Follow me.' He said, before gesturing and walking out of the open room. Nighty and Marcus hesitantly followed.
'What's going on?' Nighty whispered.
'I don't know, but I think we're soon to find out.' Marc replied.
'Right this way!' Oxy called, proceeding to walk through an entrance on the left.
'Excuse me if you don't mind me asking, but whereabouts are we?' Marcus called inquisitively.
'We're aboard the Skyforge Air Shuttle 3000, a hundred thousand feet above Cardiff city. This whole structure was designed by one of our scientists, you know.'
'Oh, interesting...' Marcus muttered. 'What are we doing here exactly?' Suddenly, Oxy stopped.
'Through this door, please.' Oxy said, gesturing towards what looked like a solid wall. As Marcus and Nighty stepped forward, the door opened like an elevator.
'Hopefully I'll see you again soon.' Oxy said with a smile, before walking back the way he came.

The two entered the room. It was a large room, with a raised platform in the middle. All the walls were transparent apart from the one which Marcus and Nighty had just walked through, which was tinted. The transparent walls offered a spectacular view of the sky. On the raised platform sat a man dressed similarly to the soldiers the two had seen as they came here, but he had extra badges and medals on his armour. There were two soldiers stood at the bottom of the platform, at either side. Marcus and Nighty proceeded to walk up the stairs, before the man turned around. He was middle-aged, about 30. He was balding at the top of his head but had the face of a man you wouldn't want to mess with. His eyes were a dark blue and carried with them a sense of hardships long since past.
'Marcus Edden?' He said. His voice sounded gruff and gravelly.
'Yeah, that's me' Marc replied inconspicuously.
'The name's Rejoice - General Rejoice. I think you'd better come with me.'

I wonder whats gonna happen to mercus now, and what happens to him and nighty..
I bet he loses his comrades along the way but marcus makes it all the way with someone by his side...a girl maybe....and he gets to the bottom of it all

Beware, the next chapter is a wall of speech involving just two characters and may or may not bore the shit out of you. On the plus side, it will explain just what the hell is going on.
