sticking threads.
there should be an option on threads where you can stick them for yourself.
like if i want to keep up with my new show off thread, i can just stick it for myself on the thread controls and not have to sift through other threads to look for it.
i've seen this done on other sites and i do use it alot, its not really needed it would just be nice to do instead of having to look for the threads your interested in.
hope you take it into consideration.

I meant threads in general, like if I wanted to stick the Guitar thread or the Street Fighter Thread for myself, I could just do it for me through the thread controls.
I was just trying to give a specific example.

The result would still be the same: Everyone would stick their thread and not now when to un-stick it (or even if they should stick it or not) and we would end up having nothing but stuck threads.

I believe he means sticky it for himself so that he can keep up with it, but it's not stickied for anyone else. At least that's what I think.
vBulletin has a solution for this already though: thread subscription.

Like Ahriman said, you can just subscribe to your own thread and you will be notified once a new reply will be made.
Alternatively, you can go to your profile, click statistics and then click "Find all threads started by NAME." It will show all the threads you created starting by the newest first.
