Some quick help pl0x?
well ok...so I decided to format my computer, everything goes fine just like always...
then i try to go online...and it's slow as fuck!
I tried both firefor and IE...and to be quite honest, IE is quite a bit faster, but still takes a lot longer to connect and load pages than it used to.
My download speeds are still in the same range.
and trying to play something online is a damn nightmare.
somebody have any idea why this might be happening?

As you have formatted your set up, are you sure you now have all of the latest drivers? Out of date network drivers might cause it.

yup...
got all the updates and everything.
and I have a wireless router but it's hooked up directly to the PC.

Restart your PC, then try again. If it fails then reinstall Firefox.
Also check you data packet rate, Which should be under network connections, Local area network, rightclick, properties, status. If too many are sent for the number ecived then it's your network/provider/line that's wrong.

Happens to me when the ISP's doing work on the line or the exchange. Can't really work out what it would be otherwise. If you can get a laptop and plug that in and see if it's any faster.

must be your ISP, perhaps they are doing some repairs or something like that

I presume you've tried the golden solution of turning off modem/router at the mains, leaving for a minute and turning back on?

and my downloads are still the same usual speed which comes close to and sometimes exceeds 1MB/s.
