I'm new. Help!

Alright,
Is it just me,
or is it that half the photoshop brushes (from deviantart) can't be downloaded.
A messege pops up after attempting to download saying that
"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."
Also, when creating a signature,
how can get my rendors to be darker,
like i these two:

Where are you downloading these brushes from? And maybe the download isn't able to be completed, because you might have a bad internet connection. That kind of thing happens to me, when my net gets dc'd in between of a download.

but now I got another question.
After i create a signature (just created my first),
how do i get it to photobucket?
It's not like a normal picture,
I can't even view it right.
