Unable to see other layers

I am unable to see alternate pics when working in Phohoshop. It only lets me veiw the most recently opened one. For example; I started working on a sig today and went to get my render. When I opened the render (or any other pic) it takes up the whole workspace and I can't make the work area smaller. Any ideas?

Do you have the current picture you are looking at set to full screen?
Something you can try is pushing the "F" key a few times, like maybe 3 or 4.
