3D modeling ?

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with 3d work such as character creation or environments and if they could give me a hand finding a simple newbie program that i could begin learning with and some tutorials would be handy.

Maxon 3D is pretty much for terrain and buildings and stuffs...
If you want one for people and characters and stuffs get Poser.

only 2 programs i no of are cinema 4D and 3D max

Alot of people I have talked to use a program called Maya for character design/animation.

vue is a good programme for building terrains and works well with poser as it allows you to import characters created within poser
