Has gaming lost its spark in your life?

I've got to be honest. My interest in gaming has dropped over the years. At the moment it might be at an all time low.

Maybe it is because I'm getting older but no longer can I justify paying full price for a new game. The majority of games can be completed quite quickly if time is put into them. Also, I'm no longer an active Xbox Live gamer as I once used to be. I just have no interest in multiplayer gaming.

For me, gaming has lost its spark. It just isn't as exciting as it once was.
It has been quite a while since I was excited for a new game release. Yes I'm looking forward to Fable 2 and Star Wars Force Unleashed on the Xbox 360 but I can happily wait on them. At present I'm renting any games that interest me with only GTA IV in my collection.

Anyone else feel the same?

it's not because you're older, i feel the same. They could come out tomorrow and announce the xbox 3 or whatever they're gona call it and i'd just be like "oh...ok cool" while a couple years back i'd be pissing myself. I still love gaming, like GTA4, PSU and that, but theres sooo many crap games out there that its insane. I too am looking forward to Fable 2 and Star Wars, maybe even Spore and a couple others, but im not paying £40-£45 on a game now. For example, im playing PSU more than any other game in ages, and it cost me £8. It's just getting out of hand with developers spending all their money out on the graphics engines and then skimping out on the gameplay and length of the game. Lets hope soon they can turn this around and start chruning out some more A class games.

Like I'm not going to sell my 360. I know I'd miss it if I done so.

It's just that when I have cash now, I look at things I could do with. Practical things like clothes. I'm evening considering buying a new car...

Games now and just not worth 40 quid to me. I even found GTA IV a major disappointment. It was the last game which got me massively hyped. I haven't touched it since finishing the main story.

only titles im looking forfawrd to are Gears of war 2 and Darksiders.

i was going to buy a new game yesterday but then after a hour of game browsing i realised there really isnt that much good out there, exept the good games everyone has.

I got around half way through Ninja Gaiden 2 on a rental. May rent it out again and finish it.

Back in the day...all I did was spend cash on games. Odd how times change.

You have a car?

What type? I drive a black 1.4 litre Peugeot 206.

Contemplating buying a new Peugeot 207 in a few months...

Fuel prices are crazy. I'm thankful I don't have to drive much lately. With other costs, I can't really justify paying full price for a game.

Wow from games to cars in just a few postsO.o
But my love for games have never been greater then now. With me going off to a school to learn how to make games and possibly getting a job at a gamestop i think it´s safe to say that i am a complete nerd

There is a reason why diesel cars cost more.

They are more fuel efficient.

Anyway, long gone are the days I was so into gaming I ran websites, forums etc.

Right now I'm sitting out in the sun enjoying it more.

I still love my JRPGs and things like Pro Evo and Smash Bros with a group of mates in real life, but other than that, yes I feel some of the spark has gone out of gaming for me as well. Nowadays I often feel like I really want to play something, though I'm not sure what, and I look through my small field of games and don't see anything I could be bothered with

pretty much yea, it has lost its spark, I even left my consoles at my parents cos my brother plays them far more than I do, certain games like MGS4 I really wanna play but I'm not as excited about them as I used to be
