Rofl, that doesn't mean anything at all. It's popular because it's an easy no-brainer game with a big brand name behind it. I've played just about every MMO out there, and believe me - WoW isn't at all that good at all...

Diablo II was and still IS awesome, it has a few thousand players still playing it today, a decade after it's release (at least I think it's a decade). The story line and revolutionary cinematics (for the time) made it an immersive and overall great RPG experience. If Diablo III will be Diablo II with better graphics and some flashy new skills I'll be EXTREMELY pleased. So far, from looking at the gameplay video it doesn't seem bad at all, and the destructible environment seems like a lot of fun. I didn't like the environment they used for the Warchief or whatever it's called as I feel it's not in the Diablo spirit. Diablo isn't about flowers - it's about death. DEAEATTHHHHHHHH!

In a nutshell: I hope they won't turn Diablo into World of Warcraft.

It looks pretty much like D2 except it is using a more Warcraft 3 style design. If the camera was just a little closer it would look just like a cartoony D2. And the environment looks like that cause the development team wanted to bring more color into the game but keep it gothic with the actual feel and the atmosphere. And no one said that the Necro was gone, we just haven't seen it yet

EDIT: Scratch that last part about the Necromancer. I didn't see that little thing hidden in the FAQ that specifies that there'll be only 5 classes.... FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKK

If you were a summoner and you were doing Baal runs you got kicked out the game for making most people lag with your shitty skeletons.

it's not really that time taking...
took me maybe 2 weeks to get my pally to lvl 97.
I remember how awesome it was when u had some random hammerdin bot that did like 50 baal runs in less than 2 hours

Haven't heard of it? Every Diablo title was awared Best Game of the Year. But I guess a lot of people on this forum wouldn't know it, as Diablo was released 11 years ago, and Diablo II was released 8 years ago... I loved both games, but I preferred Diablo II.
