I have to disagree, Jack Nicholson wouldn't make a good Joker. I mean, if you take a look in that (most horrid) picture you'll see how shit he does look as the joker. True it may be that he didn't dress himself up as a clown, but that's how it looks.
It's just not "dark" enough and fits a cartoon style as oppose to what we got from Heath Ledger.
Jack in the Shining = good.
Jack in Batman = bad.
I mean, if you look at his previous performance as the Joker than you'd see that it just wouldn't be great for this movie.
I can't think of anyone else who could fit it, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that could have done a good job as the Joker. I mean, if Heath wasn't the Joker this time, then no one would have thought he'd do a good job or even thought of mentioning him.

All the acting in all 3 Spiderman's was dreadful.
Tobey Maguire being the worst. Closely followed by Kirsten Dunst.
