Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
Hi, nice tutorial, although not the most newbie friendly. But thats just me, since I suck.
Anyway, I was just wanted to know how you got that lovely bronzed effect in the dwarf sig (the bar behind the text)? Cheers.

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
Use the shape tool to make it in white and then set its style to Overlay or soft light. In the dwarf sig its layer is behind the renders blur layer so it kinda fades out.
Btw, what part is not newbie friendly and maybe I can explain some more. I would was its probley aimed at the intermidiate level PS user.

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
Well perhaps you should just make a "glossary" forum topic saying what all the common PS terms mean. For example, "rendor", "vector brush" "feather" etc.
Also explaining how to stretch the render would be helpful for many people i'd say.

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
hmmmm, ok I will answer those few in here for you
A render is the picture you use (ie. the final fantasy character).
A vector brush is a simple design brush. You can add brushes to PS and get them from many places like www.deviantart.com. I will make a pack for people to download soon with lots of usefull stuff in like brushes.
Feather. When you choose the lasso tool it has options at the top if the screen to change. There you can find feather. Try it and see what it can do. (ie, you draw a big circle with it and then it makes it 10pixels smaller).
Stretching the render is real simple. You have 6 points that surround every PS layer. You can grab these with your mouse and distort the layer. Holding Shift will keep its porportions.
Hope this helps m8, just let me know if you need anything else. The above phrases will become common the more you use PS and I guess I forget I had to learn them once

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
lol, always had a thing for art but my early PS work was just as bad as anyone elses.
Good idea about having a glossary for all the PS terms, will get working on that.

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
Here is my attempt at the sig, i oculdnt do it all, i have no idea how you managed to get those diagnol lump things in there, i tired doing it with the pencil, i was all over the place.
i also messed it up (looks really dark) basically because i drew the lines on the wrong vecotor, so when i went to put it in overlay, it came out real dark (was darker) so i had to lighten other vectors so the pic owuld actualy show.
i like the way you do it though, real nice and easy to do.

Re: Original Style (vector/blur/pixelated)
Morph thats real good. Render works real well. The "diagnol Lump things" is a brush. If you choose your brush tool and right click on you work you can click the little arrow and load more brushes. I will get some brushes together and make a pack.
Jetmars, Love what youve done m8. Real sharp. Just one point though, is it me or is your render a bit distorted (squashed)? Only a little mind. Love the link too
