Nah, splash pages on any site are pretty much pointless. I mean they serve no purpose and force the user to skip them every time.

ts like an intro page, nutting on it but a logo normaly, you normaly jsut click on the picture and it takes you to the site, they are pointless, but in rare ocasions can look pretty

its kinda like a samll advertisment, or a teaser, gets you ready for the big thing, so its like a trailer to a film, but its only the tip of the iceberg well thats what i think there for

See they are fine if they are a once off. Once the user sees them once, that should be it, never again.
Even one click extra to skip it is enough to put people off a site
