Its a shame its all locked up unless I sign up. Before I sign up whats your site stats, members, threads, posts and how long has it been going?

We lock it up like that to keep rippers away. If someone rips & we find out who it is,we have all their info(IP address,email,etc.) So far it's worked! A few rips here & there,but we had all the info we needed to handle it. We take ripping very very seriously!

We have 1040 members,& we been at it since october 2006!

Interesting reasoning. It always interests me to see how other sites deal with things like this and the reasons behind it. Personally I just let everyone into pretty much everywhere (except staff room, designer level 1+ section and Video tuts), Ripping is a part of the GFX life. Its gonna happen and I'm sure if someone uses a signature from your site the chances of you spotting them are slim.

We take ripping very very seriously as well but trust peoples common sense not too, plus it adds a nice bit of drama if we catch someone

Follow the details in THIS thread to get yourself added here, I didn't see an affiliate section (well your link section is empty) but make sure you add us.

You might like to know that GI started out like your site, it was originally a SMF built into Mambo (Joomla). Its still an original look and was great at the time, still miss it but the current set up is better for a larger community.

It should not be about how many members a site can get .. quality is better than quantity imo.

True, thats we have only 3500 members unlike some over populated sites that choke under there member count (or lie)

I know a non-gfx site runnin with 100,000+ members, at least that is what they say, but the mods there take everythink to seriously,
for example,
If said to Marc, "Ohh, dont be silly." no punishment (i hope

)
But if i said it to ddp(mod), id be getting at least a 2 week vacation.

No he wouldent, ddp is alright... He used to joke around a lot and stuff... But he banned me for one week

Because I called someone a "fucking fag" or soemthing lol

Also last time I checked I thought the members were around 3 million :/

I see some bad language everynow and then, but its not a problem, were not potty mouths.

aD doesnt have enough soap for its users mouthes.

Alright,I followed your instructions. I don't see our site yet in the affilates section,so I'm guessing you guys have to approve it 1st before it shows up.

fyi, hiding forums from guests doesn't prevent rippers as well as you think. at least you're trying though.
